GEOMETRIES FROM THE FUTURE

"Geometries from the Future" presents metal sculptures by Johannes Leidenberger, in which sharp, faceted volumes balance on slender linear structures. Raw, matte surfaces alternate with golden, almost liquid bronze patinas that seem to reveal an inner warmth within the metallic mass. Each form appears suspended in unstable equilibrium, held up by thin legs or frameworks acting as supporting exoskeletons. The tension between the apparent solidity of the blocks and the fragility of their supports stages a reflection on stability as a precarious construction. Leidenberger thus envisions geometries belonging neither to the past nor the present, but to a suspended future, still to be defined
