"Talking Heads" brings together the works of Gilda Mautone and Ade Quercianera in a path that crosses painting, sculpture, and textile installation. From Ade Quercianera comes a sequence of small paintings with vivid grounds — red, black, blue, orange — in which the face barely emerges, dissolved into dark traces and stains, almost a mask consumed by colour; alongside these, a series of more defined female portraits plays on the ambiguity between seduction and threat, including a woman with a rose crossing her face where her nose should be, and another wrapped in a pink mesh balaclava. From Gilda Mautone, a large canvas shows a hybrid man-animal figure in bright green on a yellow camouflage ground, while a second composition intertwines hands, leaves, and a star into a single red-and-green organism; on the floor, three small white plaster heads stand as mute, archetypal presences. The path closes with a large dark fabric mask-tapestry, trimmed with fringe and fur, from which long red threads hang down like tears. Talking heads, then, but speaking a language made of surfaces, masks, and matter.
