DIZZINESS
ADE QUERCIANERA
"Dizziness" is a large acrylic-on-paper painting in which two masked figures, with distorted faces and greenish flesh, clasp hands above a smaller third figure, seemingly suspended between them. The handshake, traditionally a sign of agreement, here becomes charged with ambiguity: the arms intertwine in an almost swirling tangle, while red brushstrokes burst outward like shards from the centre of the scene. The acidic colours — green, yellow, turquoise — heighten a sense of imbalance and disorientation, in keeping with the title "Dizziness". Quercianera thus builds an enigmatic iconography, where the pact between figures also becomes a threat, and the vertigo is both physical and symbolic
