"Golden Age#2" is a wearable sculpture by Gilda Mautone, made of crocheted wool, fabric, and cotton thread. The embroidered face at the centre of the piece, with its geometric features and bright colours, becomes an identity mask stitched into the garment itself. Around it, coloured fringes and netting cascade down, blending the precision of crochet with the freedom of a painterly gesture. The title, "golden age," feels almost ironic set against humble materials like wool and recycled fabric, suggesting a notion of richness born from handmade labour rather than material value. It is a work that wears its own history — one of patience, colour, and excess
